News from the Director of Umpiring SFNL

Welcome again to the 2018 season.

Umpire registrations for the 2018 season are open and it has been great to see so many people reregister and continue umpiring with our group. If you know of anyone (new) who is keen to umpire with us as a field, boundary or goal umpire, please direct them to the SFNL webpage and click on the umpire tab (Registration).

Pre-Season training (8 weeks) will be commence on Monday 12th February (4 weeks away) and like in past seasons, we will train on a Monday and Wednesday (start time 6pm-7:30pm). Jake Rossatini will be our preseason fitness guru

Training will be at Bricker Reserve, Rowans Road, Moorabbin. This is subject to change depending on the availability of the running track but we will let you know.

As well, for those umpires interested in having a goal before the start of the 2018 season. I have registered a team to participate in the Royal Children’s Hospital ‘Run for the Kids’ that will occur on Sunday 18 March. The run is 15.3km (about the same distance you run in a game) and the fee is $60. When registering, our team is call SFLUmp and the password is umpire2018.

Also, don’t forget if you go for a run please post so others may join you.
